Since the rumors of Delhi Belly being made in Tamil were out, I was very skeptical about its relevance to tamil audience. The place, the language, the life style which are the blood and soul of the whole tale is completely alien to tamil audience. I was very sure it would never work here. Settai was an eventual flop.
Settai is one more movie which proves, santhanam is the brand which most of the movies rely on and Arya should really think of quitting cinema. He has been and is pathetic on screen with his insanely built up body and irritating acting, if I am excused once to call it so. And then the usual hamshika motwani adds to the GQ. Finally Anjali who has ever been the run of the mill next door girl flies to locations in abroad for songs which is only feat that this team can be proud of.
This is how some of the self proclaimed Directors spoil the legendary tamil cinema’s image by spoiling a cult movie in an attempt to serve it locally. It is like trying to make tandoori idli.There are certain things which should be respected and viewed as they are. And the most disheartening news is that they are remaking the cult & classic thillu mullu as well. Settai is just a warning to the team involved in that terror attempt. Nothing more to say about the film. If you understand tamil, listen to what RJ balaji has to say. Simply sums it up truly.
